Do Some Research When Choosing a Sinkhole Contractor

There are over 70 foundation contractors in Florida. Less than 15 percent of them have met the criteria needed to qualify for membership in Florida Association of Sinkhole Stabilization Specialists (FAS3). One local sinkhole repair company caused more harm than good to four Spring Hill homes that had hired the company to repair sinkholes. A Hernando County Sheriff's Office investigation found that the owner of the company had filed false documents, used a non-certified engineer, and had an accredited engineer sign off on reports.

This is an unfortunate example of why FAS3 was founded, and why it's so important for consumers to do their homework when hiring their foundation contractor.
