Photo Album: Foundation Settlement in Newberry, FL
Mike F. of Newberry, Florida was ready to start remodeling his home, but was concerned about damage to the walls and floors. He was worried there might be a settlement issue due to several cracks that were widening, so he decided to call LRE Foundation Repair to take a look. LRE completed a whole-home inspection, making special notes of all damaged areas, and determined that washed-out soils were the main cause of the foundation settlement. LRE designed a remediation program consisting of helical piers and PolyLevel installation. First, helical piers were driven into the soil around the perimeter of the home, compacting and stabilizing the soil along the way. These galvanized steel piers were attached to the home's footer and were able to create lift, closing the cracks and re-leveling the foundation. Next, PolyLevel was injected around the outside and inside of the home. PolyLevel is an expandable foam material used to fill in the voids under the home and add additional stabilization. Once the job was complete, this homeowner could rest easy knowing his home was permanently stabilized, and could confidently start his renovations without worry.
