JP V. owned a home that was over 100 years old in Ormond Beach, Florida. Throughout the time he lived there, he noticed his floors were sagging more and more and knew there was a foundation problem. LRE completed a full home inspection, determining that loose, sandy, and shifting soils had compromised the support beams and walls in the crawlspace area. To remedy this problem and lift the floors back level, LRE specially designed a SmartJack system under the home. The SmartJack system is comprised of heavy-duty steel posts that are installed in the crawlspace and adjusted to reach desired heights needed to lift joists back into place. They are spaced throughout the crawlspace area and remain a permanent fixture adding stability to floors and eliminating future structural settlement. When the job was complete, the homeowner was surprised to see his floors releveled and relieved to not have to worry about his foundation anymore.
