Photo Album: New Drainage Solution in Fort Meade, Florida
Wade, who recently bought his new home in Fort Meade, Florida, noticed water flooding into and under the garage, posing a significant threat to his home's foundation. He asked LRE Foundation Repair to come out and assess the home and provide a solution. An LRE Design Specialist discovered that the old channel drain along the side of the house was not effectively draining water, leading to an overflow that flooded into the garage. To address this issue, a plan was devised to install a new, efficient drainage system. This new system included an improved channel drain designed to collect rainwater and redirect it to the perimeter of the property, away from the home. Following the completion of the new drainage system by the LRE team, Wade noticed an immediate difference and was delighted to see that his garage was no longer flooding.
Original Channel Drain
The original channel drain had become ineffective, consistently backing up with water and causing flooding to occur in and under the garage.
Site Preperation
The LRE team measures and prepares the location for the new channel drain system.
Trench Excavation for Drainage Pipe
The channel drain on the side of the garage collects rainwater and redirects it away from the home through an underground pipe system. A trench is excavated just below the surface to create a suitable placement for the pipe system.
Pop-up Relief Drain
Positioned at the far end of the property, the drainage pipe connects to a Pop-up Relief Drain, where water will be released away from the foundation.
Complete Channel Drain Installation
The installation of the new channel drain has been successfully completed, providing a more efficient drainage solution for the homeowner.
