Photo Album: French Drain Solution in New Port Richey, Florida
Flooding around the perimeter of Douglas’s home in New Port Richey, Florida, was a persistent problem that he knew needed to be addressed. Concerned about the effects on his home’s foundation, he called LRE Foundation Repair and scheduled a free inspection. An LRE Design Specialist conducted a full-home inspection and found a great opportunity to install a French Drain system around the side of the house that suffered the most from flooding. This subsurface drainage alternative from more traditional systems collects and diverts excess rainwater away from the foundation through a perforated pipe and directs it to a pop-up relief drain located at the far end of the property. After the LRE team successfully installed the French Drain system around the side of Douglas’s home, he was relieved to finally be free of his home’s flooding troubles.
Flood Zone
During rainstorms, this area around the home experienced major flooding, leading to water intrusion inside the house and exerting pressure on the foundation.
French Drain Trench Excavation
The LRE team clears excess vegetation from around this side of the home and begins excavating a trench for the installation of the French Drain system.
Placement of French Drain System
Following the trench excavation, the LRE team positions the French Drain down along the side of the home where frequent flooding has occurred.
Pop-up Relief Drain
The French Drain redirects rainwater from the flooded area via an underground pipe system to a pop-up relief drain at the far end of the property.
Complete Installation of French Drain System
The French Drain system is now fully installed, ready to manage flooding around the home and safeguard the foundation from potential damage.
