SR35 Sound Wall Project

Due to the state widening SR35/US17 from 2 lanes to 4, it was determined that a sound wall was necessary because of the increased noise level. Getting the grout to the site was an obstacle as the closest FDOT approved plant was 45 minutes away. Another disadvantage was that the powerlines were very close to the job site. LRE was able to coordinate with Prince and FPL to resolve these issues.

LRE Foundation Repair was hired by Intrepid Precast Technologies to drill and grout (50) 30\" x 20' deep Auger Cast Piles. Intrepid placed the cage and post (one assembly) and then placed 20' panels between the installed posts. The challenges with the grout were overcome by strategically figuring out how to precisely time the arrival of the grout when needed in order to ensure efficient piles with quality grout every time. Due to the abilities of LRE's Casagrande B175XP Auger Cast rig LRE was easily able to lay down the mass in order to clear the powerlines, walk the rig to the desired location and set the mass back up to perform the piles without any interruptions. This helped to ensure the project did not fall behind on the desired time frame for completion.
