Pool Deck

Pool Deck Repair in Orlando, Tampa & All of Florida

If you have a pool, mixing the chlorine and maintaining clean water aren't the only responsibilities to ensure a secure environment. Your pool deck also requires some upkeep to remain safe. Dipping, settling, or uneven concrete surfaces surrounding the pool are hazardous. Concrete with protruding edges, where one section drops below another, is a serious trip hazard.

An even concrete pool deck is necessary, as these are areas where people run around. But there is no reason to worry. The foundation repair specialists at LRE Foundation Repair are well-equipped to offer quick and permanent pool deck repairs. Our innovative PolyLevel® concrete lifting and leveling technique is a faster and more affordable alternative to pool deck replacement. It's also a better option than pool deck resurfacing.

Contact LRE Foundation Repair for a free pool deck inspection today! We serve Tampa, Orlando, Saint Petersburg, and neighboring areas throughout Florida.

Causes of sinking, cracked concrete

Pool decks consist of several concrete slabs. Depending on the support of the soils below the surface, it can cause some of those slabs to sink and create uneven surfaces. Here are some reasons why supporting soils weaken and settle:

  • Poor construction: When builders add backfill soil around the pool, it will not be as dense or well-compacted as before excavation. Then, pouring heavy concrete on loose soil compresses the area under the slab's weight, causing sections to sink and settle.
  • Soil expansion: Excess water from rainwater can cause the soils to saturate with water and expand. Expanding soils can lead to settlement, causing voids that heavy slabs sink into. Ultimately, this creates uneven, cracked concrete surfaces.
  • Soil contraction: Dry weather conditions will cause soil to contract, leading to shrinking soils and voids beneath the slab. That creates uneven, cracked concrete surfaces when the pool deck sinks into those empty spaces.

Symptoms of pool deck damage

Does your home have uneven, cracked concrete and tripping hazards around your pool? If so, these are signs of concrete settlement:

  • Sunken slabs: Concrete pool decks consist of several concrete slabs. If one slab sinks below the other, this indicates settlement.
  • Cracked concrete: Settlement often appears as sunken slabs, but cracked concrete is another symptom. Oftentimes, we can fix cracks with concrete leveling.

If you have noticed these signs of concrete settlement, get a free inspection from LRE Foundation Repair. Sinking slabs may have a simple fix. Instead of performing a complete concrete replacement, we can lift sinking and cracked concrete into place with PolyLevel® concrete leveling. We lift sinking, cracked concrete by injecting PolyLevel® expanding foam beneath the slab, raising it to the proper level, and strengthening the soil so problems won't reoccur.

PolyLevel® is a fast, affordable repair for settled concrete

Old-school concrete repair methods are still the go-to solution for some contractors. They bring in heavy equipment, demolish the settled sections of the pool surround, and pour a new concrete deck. There may be damage to your yard, and the pool remains unusable until the new concrete has hardened and cured.

But there is no reason to worry with LRE Foundation Repair — PolyLevel® concrete leveling eliminates this expensive, disruptive, and time-consuming process. We use a high-density expanding foam to raise settled concrete.

How PolyLevel® concrete leveling works:

  1. We inject the two-part polyurethane foam mixture through small holes drilled in the settled concrete.
  2. Our professionally-trained installers control the injection process to ensure just enough foam for an accurate lift to re-level the concrete deck.
  3. The foam's expanding acion fills voids in loose soil, improving the soil's stability and load-bearing characteristics.

Once the PolyLevel® concrete leveling process is complete, you can feel confident that settlement won't occur again.
