Pooling Water on Concrete Patio in Belleair Beach
Challenge
March, 2021- A homeowner in Belleair Beach called LRE because they were concerned about water pooling on their back patio. The excess water was washing out the soil underneath the concrete patio, causing the slab to sink.
Solution
LRE conducted a whole home inspection at no cost to the homeowner. During the inspection, LRE's trained design consultant found water from the roof was not properly draining, which caused the water to pool on the back patio. The design specialist determined that, in order to control the water from the roof, connecting the down spout to a diversion pipe would move the water away from the patio.
Specially trained production team members at LRE dug around the concrete patio to create a trench for the drainage pipe. After the pipe was installed, the crew buried the pipe, cleaned up around the patio and were even able to replant the homeowner's bushes around the concrete patio. The production team also used a specially-formulated foam to lift the concrete patio slab back into place.
