Downspout Drainage Problems
The downspout of this home, and slope of the yard, didn't allow for proper drainage and water would pool around the foundation. This causes excess erosion and if not addressed, could become a bigger problem.
Erosion Around the Foundation
Erosion started to take place around the house and water was intruding from the plant bed area. If this is not addressed, soils could potentially become looser and looser causing voids under the home and movement to the foundation. Excess movement could lead to cracks, moisture intrusion, and other issues.
Trench Digging for Drainage Solution
LRE got to work around the exterior of this home, digging trenches that would ultimately divert water away from the foundation and out into the yard and toward the street.
Trench Dug
LRE dug 100 feet of trench in order to place the necessary materials needed for this water diversion project.
Pipe Installation
Once all trenches have been dug, LRE then installed hard pipe and EZ Flow materials as part of this water diversion plan.
Hard Pipe Installation Complete
Hard pipe is installed into the ground and connected to pop up drains, the only item that is visible once this project is complete. The pipe allows the excess water to flow easily out into the street rather than pool around this homeowner's foundation.
Pop Up Drain Installation
A pop up drain is connected to the underground pipe and allows water to "pop up" out of the ground and flow into the yard and street. This is a popular, and successful water diversion technique.
Installation of EZ Flow for Drainage Solution
EZ Flow materials are installed into the plant bed near the home. An alternative to traditional "stone and pipe" drainage systems, EZ Flow is highly durable and prevents water from flooding the area.
Drainage Solutions with Downspouts
LRE installed hard pipe, EZ Flow materials, as well as upgraded downspouts for this water diversion project. This project provided the drainage solutions this homeowner was looking for in order for his yard to stop flooding.
Water Diversion Completion
Once this project was complete, LRE laid fresh gravel and sod over the installed materials creating a clean and fresh-looking jobsite.
